CS20191103: Youth Scrappy Quilt Class



In this class, stuents will learn from start to finish how to piece a binner quilt.  Skills they will learn and improve upon are: determining a layout, sewing with a seam allowance, piecing rows, pressing seams when piecing, creating a "quilt sandwich", stitching in the ditch, prepping and applying a binding.  This is the perfect class for beginers of all ages and junior sewists who have completed our sewing program.

Skill Details:
Must have basic sewing skills and knowledge of how to use a sewing machine.
Materials Included:
Pattern and all materials needed to complete quilt top. (Student will need to purchase backing and batting to complete top.)
Requirements:
Sewing machine in good working order. (If student does not have machine, call in advance to reserve one). Basic sewing supplies such as needles, neutral colored thread, pins, seam ripper, etc. Quarter-inch foot (if possible) and walking foot (if possible). Rotary cutter and mat (If student does not have one, the shop has extra). Backing and batting to finish quilt top (can be purchased at shop).
